How to use this website
This website has been created to help primary teachers teach a diversity of art lessons by giving access through artists, subject matter and art forms such as drawing, painting and sculpture. Students will make and appreciate art through these lessons. In making artworks students will go past the craft process to the art process and put in their own individual ideas and personalities to produce work that is non-prescriptive and individual. The beauty of these lessons is that each class member will produce a personal interpretation of the concept.
Each unit of work has a gallery of students' work to provide inspiration. They are by no means expected end products as each student should interpret the taught concepts in their own way.
There is also an Inspiration Gallery which exhibits student work that are from units of work not on this website. They are shared merely to give teachers ideas.
If you share or reproduce these lessons, please credit Deborah Barrett.
